President-elect Bola Tinubu has expressed opposition to Atiku Abubakar’s request for a live broadcast of the election petition proceedings.
Tinubu, alongside Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, argued that the application is an abuse of the court process.
They urged the presidential election petition court to reject the application, stating that the relief sought is beyond the court’s authority. They further criticized the application as frivolous and emphasized that the court is not a platform for public entertainment.
Tinubu and Shettima maintained that the application touches on matters outside the court’s jurisdiction and highlighted the need for a swift trial of the petition in the interest of justice.
