Preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Abia Governor-elect Dr Alex Otti on Monday are being concluded as the Umuahia Township Stadium and the Ochendo International Conference Center, venues for the event are wearing a new look.
Our Correspondent who visited the areas, reports that beautification and maintenance work is seriously ongoing at the Conference Center while workers were seen fixing podiums, clearing and cleaning the Stadium to get the place set. Police officers were not left out as they were seen rehearsing parades at the Stadium
Speaking to Newsmen today, the Chairman Venue preparation subcommittee and Member-elect for Umuahia East State constituency, Austin Mmeregini, said the banquet would hold at the Conference center while the inauguration ceremony would be concluded at the Stadium
Mmeregini said a huge maintenance work has been done by the committee members including roofing, painting, cement works and fixing of flags, adding that the occasion would be iconic as that would be the first time Abia would have a real change of power from one Government to another for 24 years in the State.
