According to a report by Newswall247, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed strong condemnation for the killing of US embassy officials in Anambra State. The incident involved the murder of two US embassy officials and two Nigerian policemen who were accompanying them in Ogbaru Local Government Area. Obi took to his Twitter account to express his condolences to the families of the deceased, the United States Embassy, and other international agencies involved. He emphasized that the act was deplorable, particularly since it occurred while the victims were carrying out humanitarian work. Obi attributed the increasing crime rate in the community and the country to the alarming levels of poverty and unemployment among the youth, which he believes is a consequence of long-standing leadership failures. He called for urgent measures to transition the youth from being idle to becoming productive, as this would help address the root causes of such crimes. Additionally, Obi urged the relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
