Lata Tandon, an Indian chef and the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon, has called on Nigerians and her fellow countrymen to maintain peace as Guinness World Record reviews the 100-hour kitchen stint attempted by Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, in a bid to break her record.

Tandon made the appeal in response to the backlash and threats of violence that some Nigerians have directed towards Hilda Baci on social media. She emphasized that there is no need to turn the longest cooking marathon into a competition, as it is just a record.

The Guinness World Record holder urged Hilda Baci’s fans to be patient and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the current record has been broken or not. She further emphasized her love for peace and implored others to embrace the same.

She wrote, “A humble request to all my sisters and brothers in Nigeria & India to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the current record is broken or not. Please don’t make it a competition, it’s just a record my friends.
I’m a peace loving individual and I wish same for you.”
