During a reception held in his honor by the Lagos State Government, President Bola Tinubu expressed his commitment to prevent the economic destruction of the country by its enemies. He emphasized that the bleeding of the nation’s finances through the oil subsidy regime should not be allowed to continue under any circumstance.

Speaking on Thursday, President Tinubu stressed the need to redirect resources towards fulfilling the promises made to Nigerians during his campaign. He highlighted the urgency of ending the financial drain caused by fuel subsidies and the arbitrary exchange rate system. He made it clear that he would not partake in any form of arbitrage or seek personal benefits from such practices, as it goes against the mandate given to him by the Nigerian people.

President Tinubu assured the public that his administration would continue to introduce new and improved initiatives for the betterment of both adults and children, who represent the future of the country. He pledged to collaborate with the National Assembly and state governors, promoting a true separation of powers to achieve the goals outlined in his administration’s renewed hope agenda.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also pledged his support, expressing confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and commending the positive impact he has already made. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State echoed their full support for the policies and programs of the current administration, emphasizing the importance of state governors in realizing the vision of a better Nigeria.

Former Governor Raji Fashola, representing past governors of Lagos State, assured President Tinubu of their unwavering loyalty and readiness to serve. The event concluded with a show of solidarity as members of the National Assembly and governors, both current and former, stood together on the podium.
