President Bola Tinubu, during a visit to Ijebu-Ode and Abeokuta in Ogun State, expressed his unwavering hope and optimism for victory in the last presidential election, despite challenges such as the ineffective cashless policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Addressing the Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, President Tinubu reflected on the difficulties encountered during the build-up to the 2023 presidential election. He specifically mentioned concerns about funds being confiscated and the failure of the cashless policy. The President sought wisdom and guidance from Oba Adetona, invoking the spirits of freedom and determination symbolized by “Baba Emilokan” to overcome these obstacles.

President Tinubu acknowledged the driving force these spirits had been in his service and expressed gratitude to Oba Adetona, other Obas, elected officials, and his personal friend, Senator Gbenga Daniel, for their loyalty and commitment during the crucial times of the election.

Describing his visit to Ijebu-Ode as a homecoming, President Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and responded with thanks and well wishes to the people. He also acknowledged the presence of Chief Mike Adenuga, a Nigerian billionaire businessman, and praised his contributions to the Nigerian economy.

During his visit to Abeokuta, President Tinubu thanked the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, for his reception, describing him as a great leader. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his promises and appealed for prayers from the citizens of Ogun State to ensure progress and stability in the country.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, in separate remarks, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the visit, highlighting his uncommon grace and resilience. The Paramount ruler of Ijebuland and the Alake of Egbaland also commended President Tinubu for his leadership and offered prayers for his guidance and good health, urging Nigerians to support his administration.

Additionally, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akaraigbo of Remoland, commended the President for his exceptional start to his administration. He emphasized the need for urgent palliatives to mitigate the effects of current challenges and reminded the President of his promise to bring development to Remo.

As the visit concluded, President Tinubu expressed his gratitude, reinforcing his belief in positive change for Nigeria. He encouraged perseverance through the present hardships, assuring that the country would reap the fruits of their labor. The President also acknowledged the significance of his Nigerian passport, symbolizing his commitment to the nation.
