The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sittung in Nasarawa State has nullified the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, and declared PDP’s David Ombugadu as the winner.
Delivering the judgment virtually, Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, declared Emmanuel Ombugadu of the PDP as the lawfully elected governor of Nasarawa State.
Two of the justices agreed that the election was won by the PDP while one judge disagreed.
Recall that Governor Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC), participated in re-election bid for a second term but faced stiff opposition during the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Sule, winner after polling a total of 347,209 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Mr Ombugadu, who secured 283,016 votes.
