In a surprising turn of events, Chief Olisa Metuh, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently engaged in a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Metuh played a significant role as a vocal critic of the opposition during the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victory over the PDP’s 16-year rule in 2015.

Joining Metuh at the meeting in the Aso Rock presidential villa is former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, who also had a history of being critical of the APC before the 2015 elections.

Interestingly, Anyim, who previously served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, collaborated with the APC in Ebonyi State during the recent general election.

It is worth noting that Metuh announced his resignation from the PDP and his departure from active partisan politics in October 2022, citing health reasons during a medical trip abroad.

This meeting between Metuh, Anyim, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is significant as it marks Metuh’s first publicized visit to the Aso Rock presidential villa since the PDP lost its bid for re-election under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

During the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Metuh faced corruption charges and was subjected to trial.
