Pastor Emeka Inyama, one of the most enduring football administrators in the Nigeria Professional Football League, has announced his departure as the Chairman of Abia Warriors, a prominent professional football club based in Umuahia.
During a heartfelt farewell gathering held in his honor, the staff and management of Abia Warriors lauded Pastor Inyama for his exceptional administrative skills, which propelled the club from the Nigeria National League to the Premier League, where they have remained for the past decade.
Elder Godson Eluwa, the Club Sporting Director, Chidiebere Nwaogwugwu, the Accountant, Igwe Onuoha, the Media Man, and Nnenna Wokukwu, the Secretary of the Abia State FA, among others, commended the chairman for leaving behind a profound legacy. They also implored him to keep his doors open, as his wealth of experience and knowledge would continue to be valuable in guiding Abia Warriors, even in his absence.
In his response, Pastor Emeka Inyama expressed gratitude to his fellow board members, management, staff, players, and the technical crew for their unwavering support throughout his 16-year tenure. He acknowledged that the time had come for him to step down, and he apologized to anyone he may have unintentionally offended while carrying out his duties, requesting forgiveness.
Furthermore, Pastor Emeka Inyama commended the Abia State government for granting him the opportunity to serve and urged the staff to offer the same level of support to his successor. The occasion included prayers for Abia Warriors, the chairman himself, and the overall welfare of Abia State.
