The nominees for the 2023 Ballon d’Or have been announced with Bukayo Saka among a host of Premier League players included.
The prestigious ceremony will take place in Paris on October 30 with Karim Benzema the current holder after firing Real Madrid to the Champions League in 2022.
Lionel Messi is the favourite to win a record eighth title after captaining Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, although Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are both likely to be in contention.
There are a number of Premier League stars once again in the mix, including England winger Saka, Mohamed Salah and Manchester City treble winners Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.
The 20 nominees for the Women’s award have also been announced with a host of World Cup stars making the list including Lionesses Mary Earps, Millie Bright, Rachel Daly and Georgia Stanway.
England star Jude Bellingham is in the mix for the main prize and under-21 award, named the Kopa Trophy, as is Manchester United new boy Rasmus Hojlund after his impressive season with Atalanta last time out.
Meanwhile, Arsenal stopper Aaron Ramsdale has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy, given to the best goalkeeper over the course of the year. Ramsdale is joined by another of United’s summer signings, Andre Onana, Manchester City’s Ederson and World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez.
