In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Anambra State vigilante operatives, Agunechemba, have arrested a prominent celebrity ‘juju master’, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba. The arrest was made on Saturday, according to a statement posted on Soludo TV’s Facebook page.

Akwa Okuko’s arrest is linked to allegations that he provides juju services to kidnappers and yahoo boys, who have been terrorizing the state. The Anambra State government has taken decisive action to curb these activities, recently enacting the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, 2025.

This new law imposes severe penalties on native doctors who create or administer charms that promote or facilitate criminal activities. Offenders now face up to six years in prison, a fine of N20 million, or both. The law aims to prevent the misuse of supernatural practices and hold accountable those who aid and abet criminal activities.

Akwa Okuko’s detention is pending further investigation by the security agency. The arrest sends a strong message that the state will no longer tolerate activities that compromise the safety and security of its citizens.
