Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has commended the state’s Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, and his team for their successful operation against kidnappers in Osokwa, Abia State. The police neutralized six kidnappers and rescued four victims alive, recovering firearms and ammunition in the process.
During a briefing at Government House in Umuahia, Otti praised the police for their bravery and reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Abia State residents. He warned that anyone found to be aiding or abetting criminal activity would face severe consequences.
The governor also ordered the demolition of the house where the kidnapped victims were held and directed that the landlord be queried. He expressed regret over the recent killing of two people in the Ukwa area by the police and called for the safe release of a kidnapped indigene still in captivity.
Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa thanked Governor Otti for his support and appealed to the public to provide credible information to aid in the arrest of criminals. The rescued victims recounted their ordeal, stating they were abducted and held without food for five days before being rescued by the police.
