In a recent report by NewsWall247 the YPP House of Reps. Candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency in the just concluded 2023 General Election has expressed disagreement with the statement made by Asari Dokubo and warned President Tinubu to be mindful of such persons around him, in his publication he wrote,
I must express my profound disagreement with the statement made by DOKUBO regarding the continued incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government. It is a widely known fact that Alhaji Asari Dokubo is a former militant who has been involved in various crimes against humanity, including oil theft. However, he was pardoned by the Federal Government under the grounds of amnesty. It is unimaginable that someone with such a background would dare to challenge the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). It appears that Dokubo’s motivations are driven by his desire to betray his Niger Delta brother and obtain the federal government contract for oil pipeline surveillance, previously awarded to Government Tompolo during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Such greed and opportunism is truly disheartening.
As concerned youth from the South-East, we strongly condemn these politically-driven acts of foolishness and malice, which stem from personal animosity towards the Igbo people, whom we believe have been divinely chosen. While we remained silent when Dokubo was making noise during the National Assembly leadership tussle, we will not tolerate any further attacks against the Igbo people from him.
Those of us who supported President Alhmed Bola Tinubu did so because of his intelligence and bravery in decision-making. We trust that he can discern those individuals who seek to undermine the unity of our nation and will not lend an ear to such manipulations. Therefore, we earnestly appeal to the Father of the Nation, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Alhmed Bola Tinubu (Jagaban of Africa), to grant our brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditional bail and secure his release for the common interest of Nigeria’s unity.
Dear President, rest assured that the hardworking and industrious youth of the South-Eastern region of Nigeria fully support you in rebuilding our beloved country. The unity of our nation is of paramount importance, and all advice, policies, and initiatives should be focused on achieving this goal. Any advice contrary to this objective can only be regarded as an act of sabotage.
I firmly believe in a united and indivisible Nigeria. I stand for a Nigeria that transcends ethnic, religious, and marginalization sentiments. Together, we can achieve this vision.
