The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced a final 48-hour window for tertiary institutions to complete their student verification exercise for the 2024/2025 loan application process, according to a statement by Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, on Friday, October 10, 2025.

The verification portal will be open from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, to allow institutions yet to finalize the process to capture and verify eligible students. Oluwatuyi emphasized that this extension is a final opportunity, warning that institutions failing to comply within the timeframe will be excluded from the current loan cycle, potentially disadvantaging their students.

“Institutions are strongly advised to make full use of this final opportunity,” Oluwatuyi said, adding that a list of non-compliant institutions would be published to ensure transparency and accountability.

The statement reaffirmed NELFUND’s commitment to equitable access to higher education through efficient and inclusive management of the loan scheme, aimed at supporting students nationwide.
